Tired of Hearing “We Can Beat Your Current Price”?
It’s a familiar sales pitch in manufacturing. Everyone claims they can make your parts for less.
But is a lower piece price always a better deal?
At Plastic Resources, Inc., we take a different approach. We’re certainly interested in providing competitive pricing, but after more than 40 years in custom plastic manufacturing, we’ve learned that the lowest quoted price doesn’t always result in the lowest overall cost.
Quality problems, missed deliveries, production interruptions, and poor communication can quickly eliminate any savings from a lower piece price.
We believe there’s more to being a good manufacturing partner than simply offering the lowest quote.
Our approach focuses on:
- Competitive, sustainable pricing. We work to provide pricing that makes sense for both the customer and manufacturer, supporting reliable, long-term relationships rather than short-term wins.
- Consistent quality. Parts that meet specifications, run after run, without the added costs of sorting, rework, scrap, or production disruptions.
- Dependable delivery. We recognize that an inexpensive part doesn’t provide much value if it isn’t available when your production line needs it.
- The right manufacturing process. Through our portfolio of U.S.-based manufacturers, we provide access to injection molding, structural foam, gas assist, blow molding, rotational molding, thermoforming, extrusion, and other specialized processes. This allows us to evaluate alternatives that may improve manufacturability, performance, and overall cost.
- Technical and consultative support. We work with engineering and purchasing teams to identify opportunities for improvement in part design, materials, tooling, and production methods.
- Accountability and communication. We remain involved long after a program is awarded, helping address challenges and continually looking for improvements that benefit both our customers and manufacturing partners.
We’re not suggesting that price isn’t important. It absolutely is. But we believe quality, delivery, technical expertise, and dependable service should carry just as much weight when evaluating a manufacturing partner. TALK TO OUR EXPERTS.
Our goal isn’t simply to offer a lower price. It’s to help our customers achieve a lower total cost of doing business.
If you’re evaluating a new plastic component, considering a supplier change, or looking for a fresh perspective on an existing program, we’d welcome the opportunity to talk.
